Their TV ads say “We’ll beat any price, or your mattress is free.”

When would you EVER be able to get a free mattress? Perhaps only in this type of exchange:

“Hi - can you beat this price?”
“Nope, sorry.”
“Cool - then I guess it’s free.”
“OK then.”

Why can’t they just say they’ll beat any published price like normal jackasses?
