Ah, the dot-com days. When I had an unlimited supply of Jelly Bellies, Piroulines, and Hansen’s soda. And a handful of years left to live. I’m well over 400lbs in this pic (circa 1999) and that bed in the office I’m lying on, that was mine. You see, for a brief time, I was a fat homeless software designer. Yes, I’ve had my share of adventures.
This feels like a place for an update on my fast. I really wish, with all my heart, that I could go back in time, and grab the guy in this picture by the balls (which may actually be visible in this pic) and tell him to do exactly what I’m doing now. Since that won’t happen, I won’t dwell. And there’s much to be happy about:
weeks on fast: 13
lbs lost: 71
body weight pct lost: 20.1 %
progress towards goal: about 50 %
So far so good. I’m not getting cocky, but it does feel good to be the lightest I’ve been more than a decade. Can’t wait to see what happens in the coming months. I’ve had the gout a few times, and besides being the most painful thing of all time, it… okay there’s no besides - it sucks. If I can steer clear of that, I’m cool.
