These letters from an American expat living in Saudi Arabia are jaw-droppingly riveting. I had to read all eleven before posting this immediately. He’s lived there for a long time, and obviously has a love-hate relationship with the place, people, and culture. But this is not knee-jerk criticism; it’s well thought-out commentary from someone who knows the place well.
