From DH:
This guy at work totally called me out.
He was so pumped to go eat at some place at lunch.
When he came back, he had that bitter beer face look.
Me: “Wow, looks like it was pretty anticlimactic.”
Guy: “(snicker) I think you meant to say anticlimatic and, yes, the restaurant was all hype.”
In front of a whole bunch of people.
So then i send him an email, cc’ing everyone that was present…..
I just thought it was funny.
How he challenged me and tried to make me look like an illiterate - doesn’t he know he could lose his turn in scrabble over that?
I was waiting for his rebuttal…I got a lot of replies from the others, mostly one word responses (”Nice.” “Finally.” “Bravo.”)
My work is done here….
Wow - that guy just walked by my cube and didn’t even look my way.
Here’s the email:

Subject: My apologies to the Weather Channel
Hi all,
I just wanted to thank Matt for helping me out with his mastery of the English language.
He must have thought that I was asking about the weather conditions at the restaurant or the owner’s strong opposition towards Mother Nature herself. My mistake. Since the “word” anticlimatic was nowhere to be found in the dictionary, I can only assume that you were making some obscure reference to the weather.
cli·mat·ic adj.
Of or relating to climate.
Ecology. Influenced by or resulting from the prevailing climate.
What I really wanted to comment on was how Matt looked really disappointed after lunch. This was surprising due to the fact that his excitement level was off the charts on the way to the restaurant. That is why, from my perspective, it looked quite anticlimactic.
anticlimactic
adj 1: of or relating to a sudden change from an impressive to a ludicrous style [syn: anticlimactical] 2: coming after the climax especially of a dramatic or narrative plot; “everything after the discovery of the murderer was anticlimactic” [ant: climactic]
Sorry for the confusion, Matt. Talk to you later.
Cheers.
